JRAC

JRAC committee

to support initiatives and advocate for reform. 

The Justice Reinvestment Advisory Council is a collaborative body in Indiana focused on improving the state's criminal justice system. It comprises both a state-level council and local councils in each county. The overarching goal is to enhance public safety, system efficiency, and community well-being through data-driven decision-making and evidence-based practices.

The purpose of the JRAC is to review policies, promote state and local collaboration, and provide assistance for use of evidence-based practices and best practices in community-based alternatives and recidivism reduction programs, including:

  1. probation services

  2. problem-solving courts

  3. mental health and addiction treatment and recovery services

  4. programs providing for pretrial diversion

  5. community corrections

  6. evidence-based recidivism reduction programs for currently incarcerated persons

  7. pretrial services

  8. other rehabilitation alternatives

  9. the incorporation of evidence-based decision making concerning jail overcrowding

Justice Reinvestment Initiative

State leaders work with experts to conduct agency-spanning data analysis; develop and implement data-driven, tailored solutions to address complicated criminal justice challenges; and maximize resources to achieve stronger and safer communities. Indiana State JRAC

The State JRAC consists of leadership from the executive, legislative, and judicial branches of government. They are charged with conducting state-level reviews of local corrections programs, county jails and probation services.

Tippecanoe County Local JRAC

Local JRACs are required to promote the use of evidence-based and best practices in the areas of community-based sentencing alternatives and recidivism reduction; review, evaluate, and make recommendations about local practices, compile reports  and communicate with the State JRAC.

First Day Out Giving

Paul's Plan Ministries IRACS program supports individuals from the First Day they are released from the Tippecanoe County Jail.
On our site you will see that the recidivism and suicide rates of recently released individuals is very high if they do not receive support and tools for reintegration within the first 30 days. Please consider donating to help us continue to support our community.
